President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the war can only be ended through direct dialogue with Russian President Putin on the basis of mutual compromise.
He said this in an interview with the German tabloid Bild, UNIAN writes.
“In every negotiation, my goal is to end the war with Russia. And I am also ready to take certain steps,” he said, adding that compromises can be made, but they should not be a betrayal of the country.
At the same time, Zelensky noted that the other side should also be ready to compromise, but so far they have not demonstrated this.
Zelensky noted that he could not yet talk about the details – there was no direct contact with Putin. “Only after direct negotiations between the two presidents can we put an end to this war,” the Ukrainian president stressed.
