Without gas from Russia, cold apartments and closed factories await Germany. The rejection of the Russian resource will force Germany to transfer production abroad. The statement was made by columnist Vera Wolfskampf for Das Erste.
According to information obtained by SmartNews from the Russian media, independence from Russian resources, which Germany constantly talks about, can be achieved in two ways. The first is to abruptly stop supplies. The second is to find a replacement for gas from the Russian Federation.
Only 50% of Russian gas can be replaced with a resource from Norway, Africa, the States and Qatar. According to economist Georg Zachmann, the remaining 50% cannot be replaced at all – the Germans will have to save.
